Our name explains what we do: protecting orangutans, anywhere – anytime. We campaign to protect orangutan habitats in Borneo and Sumatra, run rescue and rehabilitation centres to create a second chance for orangutans in East Borneo and North Sumatra, and assist captive wildlife facilities in improving the welfare of orangutans and combating crimes against wildlife. Since 2007 we have operated five teams on the front lines that work 24/7.

SECURE HABITAT

NO FOREST = NO WILDLIFE

The forest is a home for many – not only humans, but also wildlife. We collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective protection of existing conservation areas and develop our very own conservation areas through ecosystem restoration schemes.

RESCUE, REHABILITATE AND RELEASE

We create a second chance for orangutans to be wild and free. Every orangutan deserves a good life, including those who have been uprooted from their natural habitats. We operate two rehab centers in Borneo and Sumatra to accommodate rescued orangutans and rehabilitate them. Releasing them is our final goal. For those that cannot be released, due to illness or physical disabilities, stay with us on sanctuary islands.

EX-SITU CONSERVATION

There is still hope for individual orangutans in captivity. We assist zoos to improve the welfare of their orangutans, and also campaign to close down bad zoos that can not be improved.

COMBATING WILDLIFE TRADE

Wildlife poaching and illegal trade, sport hunting, animal abuse and exploitation keep increasing, threatening the wellbeing of our wildlife. If we don’t take action and stop this kind of crime, extinction and instability in the ecosystem will be the result. Thus, it is not only our job, but everyone’s duty, to save our wildlife.

EDUCATE AND EMPOWER

The COP school is training the new generation of animal activists. The alumni develop and run personal networks for conservation.
