Speakers announced for the WARN 2024 conference!
With a week to go until the Wild Animal Rescue Network (WARN) conference in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR, this year’s speakers have been announced.
The theme for the 2024 conference is “Successful partnerships leading to positive outcomes for wildlife”.
Among the speakers are:
- Kalai Vanan Balakrishnan, Co-CEO, and Karina Lim, Senior Wildlife Coordinator of ACRES, who will discuss how a holistic view of wildlife rescue can yield positive outcomes for animals.
- Yui Ning Ally Lee of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG), who will explain how they have collaborated with the SPCA to improve the rescue process.
- Karthiriish Chandrasegaran of Mandai Wildlife Group, who will highlight the importance of successful partnerships in wildlife conservation.
- Edwin Wiek, founder of Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), who will share how working with the Thai government enabled them to carry out the biggest tiger rescue by an NGO in Thailand’s history.
- Chao Sheng Liao, Head of the Wildlife Husbandry Section of WildOne Wildlife Conservation Association (WWCA), who will speak about joint conservation efforts involving indigenous peoples, government agencies, and NGOs to protect the Formosan Black Bear.
16 years after the first WARN meeting took place, we look forward to getting together once again for three days of engaging presentations, discussions, and workshops.
