WRC Jogja, located in Yogakarta, Indonesia, was established in 2010 as a rescue and rehabilitation center for protected wildlife. It was founded in response to the need to address the illegal wildlife trade and habitat destruction, which threaten many species in Indonesia. The center provides a safe space for rescued animals, rehabilitating them for potential release back into their natural habitats.

However, due to recent developments, including the expiration of their land lease and toll road construction in the area, WRC Jogja has temporarily closed and is in the process of relocating to a new site. The organization operates through a hybrid model, relying on project-based funding and partnerships. Despite challenges, WRC Jogja continues to seek innovative solutions, such as capacity-building programs, collaborations, and fundraising efforts, to sustain its mission and vision.
